Advertising through Google AdSense

The site connects to Google AdSense through Google’s code, a verification tag and an ads.txt file. The code loads on content pages and may send technical information to Google even when no ad is displayed. Ads depend on site approval and account settings. Consent to YouTube content is separate from consent to personalized advertising.

What information may be used for advertising after activation?

When the advertising service is activated, Google and other advertising providers may use cookies, identifiers and similar technologies to display ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud. The information may include IP address, device and browser details, page visit and ad interaction. Advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to tailor ads based on visits to this and other websites. Non-personalized advertising may also use cookies for measurement, frequency limiting and security purposes.

Consent and control of advertising

A Google consent message is configured for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, with options to accept, reject and manage preferences. Its display depends on service availability, region and previous choices. When the service is available and the message applies to you, you can reopen it using “Privacy preferences for advertising” at the bottom of the page. Your external-content choice in the site banner is saved separately and is not automatically treated as consent to advertising.

Pages and target audience

The short video pages, policy pages, navigation pages, and error pages are not intended to display ads in the site's advertising plan. The sections dealing with babies and children are intended for parents and caregivers. The site does not create advertising audiences based on sensitive health information or personal information about children.

Article rating and sharing

You can rate an article without registering or providing a name or email address. When you rate it, your browser stores a cookie with a random identifier for one year. The server stores the rating, its date and a derived identifier rather than your name, so you can change or remove your rating from the same browser. Ratings older than one year are excluded from results and deleted when the next rating action occurs. If you delete the cookie, we cannot recognize your previous rating in that browser.

To limit repeated requests, the server stores an identifier derived from the IP address using a one-way calculation with a secret key, for up to one hour. It is cleared when the next rating request is processed. The raw IP address is not stored in the ratings file, but may appear in the hosting provider’s logs. The average score and rating count are public; identifiers are stored outside the public website directory.

The copy-link button uses the clipboard only after you click it. Sharing on WhatsApp opens the service with the article title and link; the message is sent only when you choose to send it. WhatsApp use is subject to that service’s settings and policy.

YouTube players and previews

On watch pages and articles with video, the YouTube player loads when the page opens, without autoplay, unless a valid browser preference blocks external content. Loading does not wait for a play click or consent click. On articles, the player may load lazily as you scroll toward it. Preview images from the service load only when external content is allowed.

The player uses youtube-nocookie.com, but enhanced privacy mode does not guarantee that no information is transferred. As soon as the player is loaded, Google may receive an IP address, browser information, website address and usage data. When activated, the service may use cookies or storage according to its policy. Choosing essential content only removes the player and prevents future loads while that stored preference remains valid. It cannot erase information already sent. You can change your choice using Privacy and cookie preferences in the footer. Closing a player applies only to the current page. Watch pages load a fallback player without JavaScript, when stored preferences cannot be read. On articles without JavaScript, you can read the text and follow the YouTube link without loading an embedded player.

Measuring store visits and affiliate commissions

When you click a product or category link to an affiliate retailer, the site may count the visit to compare product interest with approved commissions. The internal record contains only the date, campaign identifier, page path, page language and number of visits. This measurement does not set a cookie or store a visitor identifier, IP address, browser details or referrer. The hosting provider's access logs may contain technical request data as described above.

Clicking opens the retailer's website. The link includes affiliate and campaign identifiers for commission attribution, and the retailer may process data under its own privacy policy. We separately keep aggregate approved-commission figures from affiliate-program reports, without buyer details or order numbers, outside the public site directory. If the retailer's report does not include a campaign identifier, commissions can only be shown alongside visits at the affiliate-account and reporting-period level. If the account is also used by other channels, the report cannot isolate revenue attributable to MyViro. A store visit does not show that a purchase occurred, and we do not link individual clicks to commissions.

Usage measurement with Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors use the site. After you allow usage analytics, the service may use cookies and process visit, device and browser data. Before consent or after rejection, Analytics cookies are denied; the Google tag still loads and may send cookieless measurement signals through Consent Mode. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our measurement configuration. You can allow or reject usage analytics separately from external content through “Privacy and cookie preferences” in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. Do not send personal or medical information through page URLs.
