Separate pillow, cover and pillowcase
Removable pillowcase, protective cover and pillow filler are different items. Each may have a different label. The fact that the pillowcase can be washed does not mean that it is permissible to put the pillow in the machine.
Read the instructions before removing the label. If they are missing, look for the product model at the manufacturer. Do not start soaking to check if the pillow will "fix".
Foam filling is not the same as fiber filling
There are fiber or down pillows that can be washed, but it depends on the product. Many latex and memory foam pillows are not machine washable. For example, Tempur-Pedic prohibits the washing of TEMPUR material due to its sensitivity to liquids.
Even spot cleaning is not automatically suitable for every foam. Check separately what is allowed to be done to the core and what is allowed to be done to the cover. If the manufacturer prohibits soaking, do not replace machine washing with manual soaking.

If it is allowed to wash, they are also suitable for the machine
Check capacity, program, dose and squeeze in product and machine instructions. Washing two pillows together is only suitable if the instructions for the pillows and the capacity of the machine allow it. Do not compress a pillow that does not fit comfortably.
Use the permitted substance and the required dose. When additional washing is required, follow the instructions. Do not cancel or turn on blackout in a blanket way for all types of pillows.
Do not return damp filling to the bed
Dry with the permitted method and temperature. Also check the center of the pillow; The shell can feel dry while the filling is still moist. Drying accessories are only suitable if the manufacturer permits them.
When the pillow does not dry well, has torn or lost its shape, find out if it can be treated or if it needs to be replaced. There is no one schedule that fits all pillows: dirt, use and product instructions determine the care routine.
This is how you read the label without washing the wrong part
A pillow with a removable cover may have different instructions for covering and filling. A zipper is not a sign that it is allowed to put the entire pillow into the machine. Open only a part that the manufacturer designates for removal, look for the label of each component and check if the filling remains inside an inner shell. Do not empty free fill to clean it without express instruction.
If the label is missing, try to identify a model from the invoice or packaging and find manufacturer's instructions. It is impossible to determine washing by touch alone. Even two pillows that look similar may contain different fillings. Until information is received, do not assume that instructions for another pillow in the same room are also suitable for this pillow.
Before washing, plan the end of the process
Check in advance how the pillow is dried and how much space there is for it. If it is allowed to use the machine, make sure that the machine is suitable for the load and volume according to its manual. There is no fixed number of pillows that must be inserted in each machine; The balance of the drum and the ability to move depend on the device and the products. An opened seam or a damaged shell requires care before putting the pillow in the wash.
At the end of cleaning, don't be satisfied with the fact that the outer fabric feels dry. A thick filling may require additional time according to the instructions. An unpleasant smell, lumps or moist areas are a reason to proceed clearly before returning to bed. Do not store a damp pillow in a bag and do not cover the smell with perfume. If it cannot be safely cleaned and dried, check for appropriate service or replacement.
