What do you call bed sizes in Israel?
In Israel, measurements are usually given in centimeters. For a fitted sheet, start with the mattress width and length, then check pocket depth. Choose the duvet cover to fit the duvet and the pillowcase to fit the pillow, rather than relying on the bed’s size name.

How do you measure the depth of a sheet?
Measure the mattress from its base to the sleeping surface, including any topper. Compare this with the sheet’s stated fit, such as “for mattresses up to 30 cm high.” Do not assume that the unstretched pocket depth equals the maximum mattress height the manufacturer permits.
A 28 cm high mattress with a 5 cm high topper has a total height of 33 cm. A sheet that is set to fit up to 30 cm is not the right choice in this case, even if the width and length match.
Do the measurements vary according to the type of fabric?
Cotton, cotton sateen, linen and microfiber can be sold in the same sizes. The material does not determine the size of the bed. The differences that need to be checked are flexibility, expected shrinkage and care guidelines.
